Healthy Active Learning Facilitator

Do you believe in the power of physical activity, play, and healthy environments to improve the wellbeing of tamariki?

Active Southland is looking for a skilled Healthy Active Learning Facilitator to support Southland schools in creating sustainable, inclusive health and wellbeing outcomes for tamariki and their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. + Support the implementation of the Health and Physical Education and Hauora curriculum using a whole-school approach.

  2. + Build meaningful relationships with schools, whānau, and local communities to enable equitable access to quality physical activity opportunities.

  3. ​​​​​​​+ Facilitate professional development, lead communities of practice, and contribute to partnership plans, reporting, and evaluations.

Eastern Southland Activator

From supporting local initiatives like the MLT Moonshine Trail to providing data-driven insights for future planning, your work will help shape a healthier, more active community.

We’re seeking someone with:

  • + A tertiary qualification in sport management, recreation, or physical education.
  • + A strong understanding of the Eastern Southland community.
  • + Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Finance and Funding Administrator - Maternity Leave cover

Are you skilled in finance and administration, with a passion for supporting community wellbeing? Active Southland is seeking a Finance and Funding Administrator to provide essential cover while our team member is on maternity leave. This is a 9-month position, with full-time or part-time options, based in Invercargill.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Finance Manager, handling key tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, GST preparation, funding applications, and financial reporting. You’ll also contribute to flagship events like the Moonshine Trail and Surf to City, ensuring their success.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • + Intermediate accounting knowledge, including GST and Xero expertise.
  • + Advanced Excel skills and a systematic, detail-oriented approach.
  • + Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.​​​​​​​
