The Vodafone Workplace Challenge is back for another year, and this time it’s all about helping workplaces kick goals for the rest of 2020.
Sport Southland chief executive Brendon McDermott said 2020 had been extremely challenging for everyone, so this year the Vodafone Workplace Challenge was focused on helping Southlanders discover new ways of connecting and having fun with their workmates.
“Workplace wellbeing is now more important than ever, so it is vital that workplaces make sure they are looking after and valuing their staff. The Vodafone Workplace Challenge is about helping them do that – getting people out and about, having fun, and trying something new.”
This year’s challenge will run similarly to last year’s – 21 challenges over 21 days. Challenges can be completed in any order, at any time within the 21 days. For every team member who completes a challenge, the team will be awarded one point. The challenge runs from October 19 until November 8, 2020.
While physical activities will be a part of the event, there will also be challenges encouraging team bonding, trying new experiences, and supporting mental and physical wellbeing.
“We know this year has been a struggle for a lot of people and workplaces, so we hope that by providing an opportunity to have some fun and strengthen workplace wellbeing, businesses and workplaces will find themselves and their staff in a better, healthier, more resilient position.”
Sport Southland events coordinator Rachael Norman said entry would be $10 per person, half the usual fee.
“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to enter the challenge, and we know that some people are doing it pretty tough, which is why we’ve halved the entry fee this year,” she said.
People entering the challenge will receive all the usual discounts and specials, thanks to the support of the sponsors, and there will still be up to $10,000 worth of awesome prizes up for grabs.
